Typical of the firm's experience is the feasibility studies, detailed design, contract documentation and construction supervision for 38 small earth dams within Katsina State in Nigeria.
Enplan Group was involved in the redesign of the 3.68 km dam at Jibiya under Jibiya Irrigation cum Water Supply Project for the Federal Government of Nigeria. The dam which was the first of its kind in Africa was redesigned incorporating a geo-dam (which comprises geo-membrane composites) on the upstream slope and geo-textiles material on the downstream to provide protection to the aeolic sand embankment.
Other feature of the redesign include: the realignment of the dam axis, carrying out detailed geotechnical investigations, design of a 2m high embankment of aeolic sand fill, a vertical filter, horizontal and toe drain, an upstream diaphragm cut off wall spanning the whole length of the crest to a depth depending on the geological profile of the sound rock underlying the dam axis.

Furthermore, the upstream geo-dam is overlain with 8cm thick concrete slabs whilst the down stream geo-textiles are over lain with rip rap. In other parts of Nigeria the firm had been involved in the feasibility studies and detailed designs of the Ibu River Project which involves the design of a dam across Ibu river for the Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority, the Tsiga, Dabai, Kafur, Sabke and Mangwal Dams, for the Katsina State Ministry of Agriculture and remedial works for the Turo Dam at Malumfashi for the Katsina State Water Board.
