WATER RESOURCES From its inception Enplan Group has been associated with water resources development WATER   SUPPLY; The firm provides a comprehensive consultancy service in all aspects of water supply both urban and rural sectors.

The firm has gained experience and developed expertise in sanitation and public health engineering including and distribution of potable water both for urban and rural communities, organizational, economic, and management studies of water supply systems. The Firm has been involved in the investigation, survey, planning and engineering designs of a number of water supply and sewerage schemes. The scope of works carried out have Included:

¨       Water resources investigation and development;
¨       Population: studies and demand forecasting;
¨
Engineering and geotechnical surveys;

¨
Engineering design of Intake works, Treatment works, Transmission and Distribution systems, Storage works and Pumping stations;

¨
Planning and design of sewerage schemes;

¨
   Studies of existing system on operation and maintenance;
¨
Financial, administrative, legal and training aspects

The firm has wide experience in the collection and interpretation of data. Rapid processing of data is facilitated by the use of the in-house computer systems. It has developed a comprehensive set of library programs for the evaluation, analysis and modeling of water supply systems.
IRRIGATION AND DRAINGE:
Enplan Group had been involved in a wide range of projects in the  irrigation and drainage sector and has extensive experience in typically arid, semi arid and wet areas. In Nigeria due to its diversity the firm has been involved in projects which have stark variations in climate, soils, culture, degree of mechanization and type of land tenancy. With the aid of computers Enplan Group has carried out an optimization study of crops, soil types and their water requirement. All these variations are studied to enable an efficient and viable irrigation and drainage scheme to be developed. At Enplan Group, Irrigation and drainage is viewed as a multi- disciplinary project and some of the complexities involved have included inputs, outputs, water delivery, extension, marketing, storage, organisation and management.
AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT
The firms: experience in agricultural development has included irrigated agriculture involving the design of gravity canals, piped irrigation systems (sprinklers, drip etc) and flumes (elevated pre-cast canals), etc. Major projects have often necessitated the study and improvement of the agricultural practice within a particular project area. The agricultural investigations have included detailed studies, survey and sampling of the ecology, agricultural production, identification of crop varieties, yields, production rates, cost of production and income and proposing methods of improving the agricultural output for the different areas encountered. The major agricultural developments the firm has carried out include, recommending crops and varieties, cropping calendar, cultivation methods and costs, fertilizer and pesticides recommendations, yield and income, storage and marketing, identifying areas for forestry and fishing development, proposing fish culture programme, species culture management, required investment, annual production costs, recommend livestock programme, and analyzing the annual production costs and incomes and carrying out economic analyses.
GROUND WATER DEVELOPMENT
Enplan Group has been involved in many groundwater development projects. The Firm has helped in advancing groundwater development, theirs and practice especially in the Northern Arid Zone of Nigeria. The group has been involved in:

¨       The interpretation of geophysical surveys;
¨
Groundwater development planning;

¨
Water sampling;

¨
Hydrogeological data collection and mapping;

¨
Project design and supervision of construction;

¨
Litho-logical logging of boreholes.

FLOOD CONTROL AND LAND RECLAMATION The primary objectives for these kind of assignments are to identify and study the flood Processes, within the identified area, and to, assess, recommend and design control measures to alleviate the flooding problems. The methodology adopted by Enplan Group, is to make the most efficient and effective use of the technical manpower and resources available to us. This methodology adopted by Enplan Group includes Field Work which involves reconnaissance survey, data collection, topographic survey, hydrographic survey and geotechnical and soil survey. The firm had been involved in major land reclamation and flood alleviation schemes within Nigeria and has gained a lot of expertise in the design of reclamation works. HYDRAULICS: The firm's involvement in water resources projects and studies has made it one of the most experienced Consulting firms in Nigeria particularly in the study and design of hydraulic problems and structures respectively. The firm's experience in hydraulics includes the design of irrigation distribution systems and drainage networks. Major irrigation projects have often necessitated the provision of river diversion structures like weirs, river control and river training structures. The firm had been involved in the detailed design and construction supervision of canal system for a large variety of soils requiring different supply systems from unlined canals, through clay linings and concrete linings to piped systems. Also various manual and automated control structures or canal network have been designed to suit different requirements in order to facilitate efficient distribution and management irrigation water. The firm's expertise in hydraulics is gained by construction supervision of irrigation systems and major head-works thus allowing confident planning and design of head-works and Irrigation systems.

HYDROLOGICAL ANALYSIS:
The firm has a library of computer programs for the processing of hydrological data for water, resource development planning. The firms Hydrologists make extensive use of computer programmes including statistical tests for data reliability, frequency analysis, trend tests, persistence, risk analysis, synthesis of stream flow, rainfall and evaporation data planning and modeling of water resources systems, filling in of missing data and analytical and planning techniques, with results expressed in both physical and economic terms. The firm's data bank has hydro meteorological data that covers the whole country and are within easy reach. Horizontal drainage and the design of the field drainage and disposal systems.

The firm has gained extensive experience in the investigation, design and construction of drainage systems using vertical tube-well drainage and also using various types and combinations buried and open horizontal drainage systems; thus, experience has been gained in many different countries throughout the world and in all kinds of soil and water table conditions.
